Relics and Artifacts and Steampunk 3-D Articulated Santos Cage Doll Shrine come together like magic.

This is one of my favorite labors of love.
Say hello to Lady Athena.

Behind the scenes:

Black gesso on all the masonite pieces from the shrine.

Sandra Evertsons Relics and Artifacts Visage face covered in acrylic paint.

And then I used transparent crackle medium.

Adding decoupage and cut out details.

Articulated arms distressed with Verday paint, decorated with lace and star brads on the joints.

Putting her together.

Her crown and face have touches of watch findings.

Love that Verday paint!!!

Sandra Evertsons Relics and Artifacts flaming heart from Spirit Treasures distressed in Verday paint.

Relics and Artifacts wing from Rising Spirit II, resin skull from RetroCafeArt and metal finding.

Assemblage of Athena.

Finding the right spot to balance the doll.

Ahhhh, the child within. And Verday paint!

More assemblage

The finch, Lady Athenas loyal bird,  has landed on his mistress shoulder.

Relics and Artifacts wing dresden in gold.

Copper paint and copper glass glitter.

Relics and Artifacts resin finch that I covered in white gesso.

Now lets color this little guy in copper and silver acrylic paint.

And add watch parts so his steampunkness comes to fruition.

Yes, steampunkness is a word in my dictionary.

Beautiful gold dresden being distressed in Verday paint.

I was given this small piece of metal and now I finally found it's purpose! Turbo engine on the finches  tail.

More steampunkness on the finch, watch parts, love it!!

We are done!!

Sandra Evertstons Relics and Artifacts Chandelier Pendants II, decoupaged and distressed.

Dresden border that I distressed with Verday paint. I also used Artisan Powder in umber from the Memory Hardware line from Prima to grunge the decoupage.

More Verday paint! I put that stuff on everything!!

Bottom half of the shrine also distressed in Verday paint and detailed with texture gel below.

Lady Athena and her loyal finch
